ACS-SA Awards

Awards We Give Out
Chemist's Best Friend Award
The first recipient of the ACS-SA's prestigious "Chemists Best Friend Award" goes to The U of I's own Dr. Malcolm M. Renfrew.   As part of his award, the ACS-SA presented Dr. Renfrew with a milli-mole sporting a custom embroidered apron with the award's name.   Thanks go to Robin Rogers for taking time out of her mid-term schedule to knit the apron for our award.   The award presentation took place at the ACS-SA's own Birthday Party for Dr. Renfrew. (October 13th, 2000)

Awards Received
Commendable Chapter Recognition

This is the award given out to Student Affiliate chapters who have done excellent work in chemistry outreach and education, but didn't quite fulfill the requirements for an outstanding recognition. We have been fortunate enough to receive a commendable recognition again for the 2001/02 school year. This award joins those for the 2000/01 and 1999/2000 school years. We will just have to work harder in the future to get an outstanding recognition.
